An Update from our 2017 Scholarship Winner Ethan Edwards
I hope this year’s meet was as fun and exciting as every year I was lucky enough to attend! I wish I could have made it, but I spent the days of the meet taking my last exams of my freshman year at Purdue University.
I wanted to thank you all again for your generosity in the scholarship you awarded me last year and let you know that I have been working hard in my first year. Since starting college, I have continued running through the Purdue Running Club, became a Purdue Engineering Honors Ambassador, and worked on the Student Editorial Board of the Purdue Journal for Undergraduate Research. This summer, I will be staying at Purdue to continue my undergraduate research as a fellow in the Center for Innovative and Strategic Transformation of Alkane Resources, which is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). I am working on a team to discover new ways of making unusable shale gases usable in traditional settings, such as automobile fuel.
Please continue to keep rewarding students for their achievements! Your impact on the community is outstanding and very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Ethan Edwards
