Weekly Meeting - Kim Henderson from Boys and Girls Club

John Keeley is our COD this week, and his speaker is Kim Henderson, who is coming to us from the Boys and Girls Club of Roanoke. Her bio to is below.  BGCA is a fantastic organization.  If this is your first time joining us as a guest, lunch is on us!

Kim Henderson Community Volunteer

Kim Henderson currently volunteers for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia. She has served on the Board of Trustees for the Boys & Girls Club for eight years and was the board chair for 2016 and 2017. Kim was the 2016/17 PTA Board President for Hidden Valley Middle School and she volunteers regularly at the school. She also serves on multiple committees at her church.

Prior to becoming a stay-at-home mom to care for her twin sons, James & Ethan, Kim was the Market Vice President for Cox Communications in Roanoke, VA. As Market Vice President, Kim was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Roanoke system. Prior to that position, she was Vice President of Cox Business.

Before joining Cox, Kim was Vice President of Partner Sales East for Level 3 Communications, which encompassed the Eastern part of the United States. Also at Level 3 Communications, she was the Regional Vice President of Sales and Operations for the Mid-Atlantic Region. As Vice President for Level 3 Communications, Kim was responsible for sales, service, field operations and related revenue and free cash flow generating activities.

Before merging with Level 3 Communications, Kim was Senior Vice President for KMC Telecom, a Competitive Local Exchange Carrier. At KMC, she was responsible for the company’s field sales, service, and marketing organizations and all revenue and Operating Free Cash Flow generating activities across thirty-five markets nationwide.

Kim began her association in the telecommunications industry in 1989 with MCI Communications and has held a variety of leadership positions in Operations, Sales, Service, and Marketing throughout her industry tenure. She is a strategic thinker with the ability to develop, implement, and follow company goals and strategies to promote growth and expansion within an organization.

Kim also served on the United Way Board, Roanoke Regional Chamber of Commerce Board, Virginia Cable and Telecommunications Association, and Cave Spring American Little League Board. In addition, she served on the Roanoke Business Council, Roanoke Regional Chamber Executive Committee, Southwest Virginia Business Development Association, and Roanoke Regional Partnership. She attends Mary Baldwin University and completed the Hollins University Batten Leadership Program.

Kim is married and has six children. Her hobbies include her family, church, running, walking, and reading.
